reading schedule

I was thinking (and I think we mentioned at the last meeting) that it would be nice to line up books a few months out. I think it would definitely help us stick with books that get better reviews, are available in paperback, and maybe get some high-quality literature (not that we haven't thus far!)

Why don't you leave your picks in the comments, and I'll post a full list later? And Faezeh, feel free to give your other book club info about us, and Sarah, definitely clue in the drinking group. We're set for our July meeting, but we've got the rest of the year ahead.

I nominate Three Cups of Tea by David Oliver Relin and Greg Mortenson, which is non-fiction but I've been told reads like a novel. It looks REALLY fascinating and I would really be interested in the conversation that would follow. Please wait until I'm back to put it on the list though, I really wanna be there for that one! :)

We talked about doing some of the classics... Of Mice and Men, War and Peace, ect. I think if we choose a book like War and Peace it should be a multi month book with a goal for each month so that we can meet and discuss what we've read so far. I'd also like to do a comparison book to movie wich doesn't have to be a new book, i.e. oliver twist, read the book, watch the movie, discuss. Or a newer book/movie. I like to see what they leave out what the director sees in the story, and so on.

I reallylike the idea of doing a movie/book. How about The Other Boleyn Girl? I think it's by Phillpa Gregory. Also, I will definitely talk to the guys in the other book club and keep you guys updated.
