First Meeting

It was a small group and everyone that didn't attend was missed. The first meeting consisted of Lisa, Kristen, Donna, and myself. Hopefully next time more of the members will be able to make it.



We discussed our horoscope characters and most of us found that we are not what the discriptions say we are. Our personalities might have some of the characteristics but no one of us was thought the discription fit us to a 'T'. We also discussed the characters in the book, their lives, loves, families, and cultural situations using the questions in the back of the paper back version of the book.



All in all we agreed that it was eye opening in reguards to the difference in culture and the friendship the girls had. Good book!



We did discuss books for next month. The books brought to the table were:

1. Loving Frank, by Nancy Horan

2. The Pirate's Daughter by Margaret Cezair

3. Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri

4. Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult



I did write all of these down on bits of paper, toss them in a hat and picked one. The first book chosen was The Pirate's Daughter, which is only available in hardcover. So we chose a second book as a backup. The second book was Unaccustomed Earth, which I just found out is also only avilable in hardcover according to amazon.com. If hardcover is a problem then we need to make a decision about the next book. I think we should have one chosen by the end of this week. The next meeting is May 27th so if we have a book by this Saturday we will have the whole month to read it.
